Testimonials:
I wish to express my delight and joy to witness as a Health Care Tutor another specialist delivering an informative, interactive workshop on the very important topic of ‘Activities in a Care Setting’. Emer Duffy Occupational Specialist, used many styles of learning to impart her knowledge, including handouts, power points, assessment sheets and interactive work with Learners guiding them to create activities using different materials.
Emer was organized and methodical in her presentation and the Learners benefitted greatly from the work shop. They learned the system of assessing clients for appropriate activities, also the importance of meaningful activities to improve the quality of life of the clients. They were given many ideas for activities based on the interest, history and capability of the client. She stressed the importance of knowing the client. Emer also emphasized the value of the Person Centred Approach in implementing care and carrying out all forms of activities. She answered all the questions the Learners asked well and they found the session very informative. They left motivated and enthusiastic, looking forward to start using some activities like for example the card games that Emer demonstrated and also creating their own activities from the many ideas she imparted.
