Do I need a referral letter?
No, you can self-refer to this service. If you have any therapy, medical or psychological assessments, please send them via email prior to your appointment or bring with you on your first appointment. This is useful to help us understand your condition.
Where will the sessions take place?
You can have your assessment at home, this is particularly useful if you are experiencing any difficulties with your daily living tasks. Alternatively, you can have your session in the Botanic Health Clinic, Cian Park, Drumcondra, Dublin 9.
Do I need a family member to be present for assessment and/or treatment sessions?
Family members are welcome to attend and this is particularly important if the person has memory challenges. It is recommended that maximum two family members attend as too many can be overloading for the individual.
How long are the sessions?
The assessment session usually takes 1 1\2 -2 hours and the treatment sessions are 1 hour.
Will there be homework?
Completing personal rehabilitation and putting the strategies into practice in between sessions is essential to effective therapy. Through client centred goal setting, we will establish activities for you to work on to help you reach your goals.
How often and for how long will I need to attend therapy?
Every individual’s journey is different so this will depend on your situation. We can discuss this following assessment.

Costs are dependent on your location. Please contact us for more details.
How do I pay?
We accept cheques or cash.
For regular sessions we can send you a monthly invoice.
Are your services covered by VHI?
Contact your insurance provider to clarify if your plan covers Occupational Therapy services. We are registered with the Irish Association of Occupational Therapists which a prerequisite for some of the insurance providers.

What is your cancellation policy?
There is a high demand for appointments. Please give 48 hours notice so we can reallocate appointments. 50% is required if you cancel 24 hours’ prior. The full fee is payable if you cancel on the day or if you do not attend.
Does it matter if I also see another Occupational Therapist?
This can work well however it is recommended that a face to face meeting is scheduled with the other therapist to ensure that concurrent practice is effective and collaborative.
